Making Our Life Count

I want to personally thank all who helped with the lunch for the Cartwright family on Wednesday, July 15. Everyone worked together and served the family during this time of loss with much love. Acts such as this are what makes our lives count. We need to be always ready to step into a situation where we can make a difference. That is why we call our congregation a family.

Sister Naomi and Pastor Bob took time to tell the church how they appreciated all they have done for them. Our songs this morning were "Help Is On The Way," sung by Sister Joyce Walters, followed by a beautiful song with the very inspiring words, "I'm on my way to Heaven and I've got more to go to Heaven for than I had yesterday." Sister Naomi and Pastor Bob blessed us with this song.

When Pastor started his message he told us that we should make every day a new opportunity to make a difference in the life of someone. We tend to just want to stay in the comfort of our church family and lose touch with those who know very little if anything of God's love. In 1st Corinthians 15:1-10, we are reminded that Christ died for our sins and after three days in the tomb he rose just as the scripture said. He rose not just for you and me but all who will accept Him as their Savior.

Who will go into the world and tell the lost that there is hope in this world. God is not slack according to his promises, we can have a future filled with joy. It is our calling to be an example. Be careful how you build your spiritual house. He is the master-builder and He left a blueprint for us to know the proper way to build. We will answer for how we use our time. If we are about the Father's business we will surely touch the lives of everyone we meet. Stop and think about it; Is there evidence of your life? Do your activities reflect a life filled with the gifts of the spirit? Are you failing those around you by speaking the word and not living uprightly?

We often get so wrapped up in our busy life that we miss the real meaning of being a true born-again Christian. In Matthew 6:32-33 we have more instruction, our heavenly Father knows what we need even before we ask.

We are to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all our needs will be added unto us. In order for us to learn the ways of the Lord we must be teachable, willing to do that which leads us to a life filled with knowledge. Acts 9:1-5 tells the story of Saul on the road to Damascus. The high priest sent him to bind anyone of the Way, male or female, and bring them to Jerusalem. As he went his way all of a sudden a great light shone from heaven. Saul fell to the earth then he heard a voice saying, "Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? Saul asked what the Lord wanted him to do. The Lord said arise and go into the city and it shall be told thee what thou must do. Those with him lead him into the city because he had no sight for three days. Then a man named Ananias heard from the Lord and went to pray for Saul that he might receive his sight. Ananias answered and said I have heard much about this man and his evil ways. God said go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me.

The changes in Saul's life are an example of one who will make his life count. He got his sight and a lot more. He was baptized and went out to preach the gospel, declaring that Jesus was the son of God. Obedience brings forth the blessings of God. Just like Saul we need to be sure of our dedication to the Lord.

Hope we have encouraged you with this message and pray that you will be one who will take the word to a lost and dying world. In closing, Pastor Bob stated that a faithful servant is willing to reach out to the lost. If you know the Lord please carry the message to others, but if you do not know my Lord I invite you to the Cove Mission of Hope where the word is spoken. Till next week may God Bless You and keep you in his care.
