'Take Your Child To The Library Day' Set For Feb. 7

Parents, mark your calendar and plan to visit your local library on Saturday, Feb. 7.

This is the national "Take Your Child To The Library Day." The McDonald County Library encourages those who have not signed up as patrons to come to the library, get your family signed up and introduce your children to the many books and services the library has to offer.

The hope is to encourage children to access their local library and refer to them as they continue their education and/or grow into adults. Libraries are invaluable in giving you the assistance you need.

Do you need a medical question answered? Do you want to know how to make your own laundry soap or disinfectant? Do you need a photo to go with your term paper? Do you love watching movies, but don't want to pay a fee? Do you need an application or tax form printed out? Do you need a book that is not in our collection? It can almost always be acquired from another library for a small fee. These and many more services are available for free or at a nominal charge.

The library will be serving cookies, giving away free books and bookmarks. All three locations (Pineville, Noel and Southwest City) will be participating. Make your child aware that the library can be a friendly and helpful place and can add a new connection to their lives.
