Eighth Grade Boys Improve To 7-1

The McDonald County eighth grade boys basketball team improved to 7-1 Jan. 21 with a 38-23 win over Joplin North.

Cooper Reece scored 14 points and Boston Dowd added 12 to lead McDonald County. Rounding out the scoring were Shiloh Jackson with six points while Joseph Brown, Oakley Roessler and Charley Moore had two each.

The McDonald County eighth grade B team claimed a 33-17 win behind 13 points from Will Gordon to improve to 5-1. Rounding out the scoring were Kirby Townsend with six points, Zack Woods four, Micah Burkholder three, Chris Monsalvo, Reece Cooper and Roessler two each and Dillon Aubrey one.

Seneca

Reece scored 23 points to lead McDonald County to a 46-45 win Jan. 20 over Seneca. Jackson and Moore added six points each while Dowd and Izak Johnson had four and Brown three.

McDonald County claimed a 20-17 win in the B game. Brown scored eight points to lead the Mustangs while Cooper had four, Roessler three, Gordon and Francisco Jasso two each and Burkholder one.
