'American Sniper' Hits The Mark

Probably the best war drama movie to hit the screen since "Saving Private Ryan" and "We Were Soldiers," the biopic "American Sniper" directed by Clint Eastwood about the life of Navy Seal sniper Chris Kyle is a must-see for all Americans (at least 14 and up).

The movie is superbly directed and Bradley Cooper gives probably his best performance as Kyle, both as a tough elite warrior and emotionally fragile human being. Cooper's performance doesn't present a clichéd hero of older Word War II films nor a mentally unhinged soldier of the 1970-90s Vietnam War films, but a right balance of both.

Special honors also should got to Sienna Miller in a breakthrough role as Chris Kyle's wife Taya.
