Character Education Awards Presented At MCHS

The character education words for the months of November and December at McDonald County High School were courtesy and compassion.

A total of 56 students were nominated by MCHS staff and faculty for displaying courtesy and compassion. Those students nominated were Danielle Kester, Ernie Rodriguez, Sarah Fore, Karryn Alley, Makenzie Bryant, Eryn Miller, Aaron Flannery, Matthew Sedillos, Natalia Vazquez, Kasey Strange, Jordan Reynolds, Zane Eslick, Aaron Kelly, Macy Swink, Taylor Brown, Journey Sanny, Haley Newburn, Tawsha Kirkpatrick, Kirstan Anacito, Mercedees Laughhard, Maria Arnett, Sharla Saimon, Angel Monzon, Shawn Harr, Hailey Leach, Luquman Yussof, Gabriella Logan, Daniel Lando, Cole Cooper, Myka Schlessman, Suzanne Scott, Bryan Mendoza, Parker Owens, Kylee Shields, Tony Jaquez, Peyton Barton, Cordale Chevaili, Adrian Ocampo, David Hernandez, Case Tinsley, Jennifer Wright, Micaela Elliot, Elio Reyes, Bobby Kochell, Andrew Draves, Aaron Stracner, Brantly Allen, Farah Russo, Haley Knadle, Brittney Stone, Alex Gross, Istarlin Adan, Addison Poland, Cristina Solano, William Hoffman and Renita Andrews.

Mandi Whitmore was nominated by numerous MCHS students as the Community Character Role Model for her volunteer efforts in show choir and cross country. Whitmore is a parent of two in the high school, Randal Buckner (senior), and Brianna Whitmore (freshman).

When asked how it feels to be nominated, she replied, "It is all about setting a good example. Doing your best to be a positive example and role model as well as showing these students what the future holds for them is a rewarding experience. My hope is that if I can make their high school experience a little better, then I've done my part."
