The Greenhand members of McDonald County FFA had the chance to go an annual Greenhand conference on Jan. 8 in Springfield.

A total of 96 FFA members attended. There were students from schools all over southwest Missouri at the conference.

At the conference, the students had the opportunity to visit with the area and state officers. Half of the state officer team and the area officers performed a skit for Greenhands about how ag kids can help anyone with anything.

Students broke out into smaller groups and played games that were useful for the future and made everyone think on their feet. Greenhands learned about different SAEs and CDEs.

Roper O'Brien said he loved the inspirational speech from a Missouri State FFA Association Officer about how she overcame her obstacles and learned to be strong and never give up.

Greenhands learned how to be better individuals and better role models in our school and community and that you could not give up on your dreams and anything could happen in the future.

It was a great experience for all the Greenhands.
