The second-grade class at Rocky Comfort Elementary School recently took on the McDonald County Sheriff's Department in a highly energetic game of dodgeball.

It was apparent that both sides had a lot of fun in this competition. The second-grade class won the game, although the sheriff's department challenged them with a very good game.

"This is a county-wide program," said Kern Sorrell, principal of Rocky Comfort Elementary School. "The sheriff's department initiates a fundraiser and grades K-8 at elementary schools throughout the county participate by having penny drives."

The classes compete against one another to raise the most money. The winning class at Rocky Comfort School was the second-grade class so they got to play dodgeball with the sheriff's department.

The proceeds from the fundraiser go to the "Shop with a Hero" program. This program enables representatives from the sheriff's department to go shopping at Christmas to purchase gifts for children who need this service the most.
