Free Youth Cave Tour Planned

All area youth ages 5-12 years old are invited to attend a cave tour on Aug. 29 sponsored by Young Outdoorsmen United. The event is open to the first 50 kids to register. Interested youth must contact Young Outdoorsmen United by calling 417-439-8594 to attend.

The private tour will be at Bluff Dwellers Cave in Noel beginning at 10:30 a.m. The cost is free to all Young Outdoorsmen United members, $2 for non-members, and includes free admission to the Browning Museum. Adults wishing to accompany youth will pay a $5 fee. A free grilled hot dog lunch will be served after the tour.

Bluff Dwellers Cave tour features unique formations such as the 10 Ton Balanced Rock, Crystal Lake and Natural Dam, Chimes Rock, along with many stalagmite and stalactite formations. The cave is also home to species of bats and salamanders.

Young Outdoorsmen United is a not-profit organization in McDonald County. The organization's goal is to "Build opportunities for youth and families to enjoy the outdoors thru hunting, fishing, shooting, and other related outdoors activities."
