One of the state's leading child advocacy groups recently honored State Representative Bill Lant for his efforts to protect Missouri's young people from child abuse and neglect.

Lant was one of two legislators presented with the "Standing with Children Award" by Missouri KidsFirst, which advocates for public policies that address and prevent child abuse.

Lant received the award during a ceremony at the Missouri State Capitol that was part of the sixth annual Pinwheels for Prevention public awareness campaign. The campaign prioritizes prevention efforts, making sure child abuse and neglect never occur. Lant was in attendance with Sen. Bob Dixon, who also received a Standing with Children Award.

"I am proud to stand with Missouri KidsFirst and my colleagues in the legislature to stand in defense of our children," said Lant, who serves as the chairman of the Joint Committee on Child Abuse and Neglect. "We must continue to work together to ensure each and every child has a happy, healthy and safe life where they can fulfill their vast potential."
