'Kick Off Sunday' Held At Honey Lake Church

Kick Off Sunday was a super day for Honey Lake Community Baptist Church. The church welcomed home its own Trent Kinderknecht from Marine boot camp and let him know just how much they loved and missed him. Everyone is so proud of Trent and the great success his entire platoon had with being given top honors in all areas of their training.

Heather Lampdin brought three guests with her, Amanda, Ashton and Shayna Donica. Doug Moppin brought his mom, Joyce Moppin.

After our teaching, preaching and singing ministry, the congregation moved to the church yard and had a tailgate party with lots of food, games and fellowship. Because the Lord blessed the day with wonderful weather, it was even better. The games started with the most school spirit and best costumes. Trent won for the best costume, which just happened to be his dress uniform from the Marine Corp. His two-year-old cousin, Aleyah Kinderknecht, got best school spirit by wearing an Arkansas Razorback cheerleading outfit.

The next game had individuals throwing a football through a moving tire. Ryan Haggard and Ashton Donica won prizes for that. The last game was four teams who had to lock arms together standing back to back holding a football between them and racing across the church yard. Team Trent and Warren won first prize and team Brianna and Katy won second. All in all the day was a great success and many schools were represented by die hard fans.

The Teens and Children's Church will have a brunch fundraiser on Sept. 21. Donations will go toward helping fund activities for the kids.
