Help One Another When There Are Burdens

Thank you to our choir for their beautiful rendition of "Touring That City." We celebrated with Belin Crawford as she received her baptism certificate. Many were on our list for prayer and many thank yous for the blessing of answered prayers. We were also blessed, following Saturday's work day, for those volunteering to help in the ever growing nursery. We are looking forward to "Round Up Day" to be Oct. 26, and it is time to start gathering in for that day -- finding strays and seeking those in need. Debbie Urich has posted in the foyer a list of needs in the kitchen and all are reminded of the baby shower coming up. Children's activity will be Saturday, Sept. 20 from noon to 2 p.m.

Dr. Crawford advised us of five terrorists cells working in our church: Been Sleeping, Been Arguing, Been Fighting, Been Complaining and Been Missing, all in disguise. The sixth is Been Praying, the only counter to terrorism. Characteristics of these terrorists are watching, waiting, fasting and longing.

All are also reminded of an opportunity to attend the Passion Play in Eureka Springs -- check with Bob or Monica Cole or Jodi or Steve Hartman. Pastor Ryan with Amanda Crawford invited all to join their family at the Golden Corral on Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. to celebrate with them the final steps to the adoption of their four children.

Dr. Crawford then brought the morning message from Galatians 6:1 and 14, reminding all that we are to help one another when there are burdens. It's important to share. "I'll pray for your burdens, you pray for mine." He shared with us the time when God in the flesh, reached down, the miracle of manifestation and incarnation. He took us to a time when Jesus was a little boy, growing up with brothers and sisters, a little boy in the flesh, just like every other little boy except He never sinned (Acts 1). He painted for us the picture as Jesus ascended, leaving two Angels (1 Corinthians 2 and 1:18-23) and reminded us to experience the Glory, the gladness, the joy. He cautioned that we should not forget the Glory in the Cross. That He has provided for me and you, for all of us, the cross of Christ. Do you take pride in the cross? When you have problems you can't handle, go to the cross, run to the cross.

We shared our traditional potluck following worship service and heard from our young preachers, followed by a productive business meeting. We are reminded that this Sunday is our Staple Sunday, a time for stocking our church pantry with non-perishable foods and household items. For more information see Kenny and Bobbi Bowers.

Don't forget Sunday morning, at 8:30 a.m. to tune your radio on to KURM 100.3 for a message of love. Go to www.firstbaptistchurchpineville.com for more information. We hope you will join us just off the northeast corner of the square in Pineville, behind U. S. Bank. We provide transportation and children's church and a nursery for our babies.
