How To Have Holy Heartburn

We were grateful for answered prayers. So happy to have Sharon Divine and Harold Anders back with us. Grateful we are in need of additional transportation, all four of our church vans are maxed out.

This morning's message, brought by Pastor Ryan Daniel Crawford, brought from Luke 24:13-20 and 28-35. "How to Have Holy Heartburn." All that we do toward morning worship service would mean nothing if He had not risen from the grave, the reason we can know Christ. Thank God He is alive. Verse 32: "Did our heart not burn within us?" In order to have a Holy heartburn, he challenged us, you have to start with a personal relationship. How many of us, he asked, have a passion for Christ? He assured us that when Jesus comes into your house, He's in charge. He rearranges all. When you want Christ, He will provide for you. The word of God (verse 32) is where you get heartburn. Don't, he cautioned, just read the Bible, read the right Bible, the King James version. He brings peace with the Word, a peace that passes all understanding. He brings conviction and you will be convicted if you read the Bible. A true holy heartburn produces a need to witness to people. How are we, as a church, supposed to grow when we don't witness to people? In closing he assured that holy heartburn produces excitement and a need to witness.

A report on this week's campout revealed it was successful and well attended. We are reminded next week we will have our traditional potluck dinner and it will be followed by our young preachers' preaching and a business meeting (no evening service that Sunday). We look forward to Round Up Day (formerly Friend Day, to be Oct. 26 at which time we will welcome the Greer family and their music). AWANA is well into progress now, Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. (transportation available). Visit www.firstbaptistchurchpineville.com for more information.

Tune in Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. KURM 100.3 FM for a message of love from our preacher. We provide a nursery and children's church for infants through third grade and youth pastor James Story reminds all that children's activity group meets each month -- on the third Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. in the Family Life Center. Transportation is available.

We hope you will join us on East 5th Street, just off the northeast corner of the Pineville square, just behind U. S. Bank. Remember this Saturday, Sept. 13 at 9 a.m. is a work day at our church and parsonage. If you would rather, contribute toward a lunch for the workers, come out and join us.
