Mid July was a busy time for performing community service for ESA members.

Baking and delivering fruit pies and cobblers for sale at the McDonald County Fair has been an annual tradition for many years and continued for the 2014 fair.

The same weekend several members took part in the United Way's "Stuff the Bus" project. ESA sisters gathered with other volunteers at the Jane Walmart to provide shoppers with lists of needed school supplies and to ask for donations of those supplies to fill the McDonald County bus parked there. Supplies will be distributed in August to students who need them to begin the school year.

Earlier in the month the chapter met at the Anderson United Methodist Church for a carry-in salad and dessert supper. President Judy Duncan called that July 2 meeting to order with 14 members present. After the second educational given by Barbara Keaton on Bad Girls of the Bible, the chapter decided several important items of business. Final plans for the July community service projects were made and the last open dates for hostesses for future meetings were filled.

Lambda Chi chapter has been asked to provide table decorations with a Star Wars Force Be With You theme and will do so at next spring's state convention. The group also learned of a recent fire in the home of Bobby and LeAnn Parrish and voted a donation to help the couple recover. The meeting adjourned after a delightful evening of laughter filled sisterhood.
