The Bible Gives Us Answers To Our Questions

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Mark 8:36

Dennis Yotter welcomed the congregation and made announcements. Preregistration for VBS was July 16; the quarterly birthday/anniversary dinner will be July 20 after services; and VBS is July 21-25. Please join us for music, fellowship, Bible lessons and games!

The little children cheerfully gathered money for our missionary during the penny drill and Bill Thomas and Jack Harp collected the tithes and offerings. Prayers and praises were lifted up to our Heavenly Father; continue praying for many who are still in need of help and healing. Megan Yotter and Tara Stephens led the worship service with "He Lives," "Redeemed" and "I Believe in a Hill Called Mount Calvary." In honor of their parents' anniversary and giving all the glory to God, the Yotters blessed us all with a great special, "We're Gonna Walk."

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7

All the wonderful talents we possess, our intelligence and emotions, strengths and weakness, all the things that make a person unique are found in our eternal soul. We battle our flesh every day in this lost and dying world to fulfill God's purpose for our lives and He did not leave us without help. The Bible is the Word of God and it gives us the answers to the question of death, eternity and salvation...the Bible contains the truth which feeds our soul. The Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin, transforming us to become Christ like, for our hope is not found in this world, but in Jesus Christ.

For as much as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 1 Peter 1:18-19

Pastor Scott gave the invitation to know Jesus as Lord and Savior and Mark Alumbaugh dismissed us in prayer.
