Next Research Workshop Set For Saturday

There is a lot going on with the McDonald County Historical Society this week.

The next research workshop is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at the Old Sheriff's House, located just south of the square in Pineville. Come learn about oral history, cemetery research, local research sites and old diseases and epidemics.

The Historical Society's general meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 20, is at the new courthouse in Pineville. A special program is planned.

You are invited to submit your family's history with or without photos to our family history book project, "Journey through Time with McDonald County Families." If you need help compiling your family's history, contact Raylene Lamb 417-364-8062, Dorothy Beauchamp 417-364-7662 or Karen Jennings 417-592-1055 and they will assist you.

The Historic Courthouse Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday afternoons, provided there are volunteers to work those hours.
