Jesus Is The Savior Of The World

And the angel said unto them, fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:10-11

Brett Woodard and Jack Harp received the morning tithes and offerings after the little children collected change during the penny drill. Many prayer requests and praises were lifted up to the Lord this morning -- give thanks to God for all His blessings and pray for the sick and hurting. Tara Stephens and Megan Yotter led the worship service with "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing," "O Little Town of Bethlehem" and "Away in a Manger." We were blessed with two wonderful specials, Elizabeth Rose sang, "Christmas in Heaven" and Carolyn Burr read "The Legend of the Candy Cane" poem.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:13-14

Jesus came into this world to fulfill God's plan of salvation for us, but he was not born in a palace or grand estate. In the chaos of the decree from Caesar, little compassion was given and no place for the Lord was found, and He was born in a lowly stable. The shepherds came to see the Lamb of God and they made known to everyone what they had seen. The angels had said to them, "For unto you is born" and still those words ring true. Jesus is the savior of the world, born unto all of mankind, for each one of us. Jesus is the perfect gift of God to show His love and compassion. Don't be too busy and distracted to give Him place in your life. Pastor Scott prayed over the congregation and Sister Pete dismissed us in prayer.
