Rejoice, For He Has Risen

He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. Matthew 28:6

We were welcomed by Dennis Yotter, who wished us all a Happy Easter and made announcements: Ladies Bible study is Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the church and the quarterly birthday/anniversary dinner is April 27. Make plans to attend and enjoy good food and fellowship.

Megan Yotter played "Jesus Loves Me" during the penny drill and Brett and Derrek Woodard received the morning tithes and offerings. Pastor Scott led the congregation in prayer for our prayer requests with thankful hearts to our risen Lord and Savior. Megan and Tara Stephens led the worship service with, "He Lives," "Christ Arose" and "Because He Lives."

Jesus came to bring hope to the hopeless. He came into this world to pay for our sins and bring salvation to mankind. Jesus was crucified and laid in a tomb, and the door was sealed with a large stone. Death silenced Jesus. He was laid in darkness and the grave swallowed hope...but only for three days. On the third day, the world shook as the chains of death were shattered, the stone was rolled away and darkness was overcome by light. Rejoice, for He has Risen!

He lives and He lives in us; changed lives are the evidence of a Risen Savior. We have victory over sin and death through Jesus and great joy and hope because He has promised to return and His word is true. Hallelujah, our faith in Christ holds us, secures us, and lifts us up, for our God is not in a tomb. He is alive and coming very soon! Tara Stephens sang, "I Will Rise" and Pastor Scott dismissed us in prayer.
