Three Hurt In Area Wrecks

Three people, one from McDonald County, were injured in recent local wrecks, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle wreck at 1:25 p.m. Sept. 13 on Highway 71 at Jane.

Audie L. Childers, 64, of Centerton, Ark., driver of a southbound vehicle, received minor injuries, while Brittney M. Taylor, 26, a passenger in a northbound vehicle driven by Isaac D. Taylor, 25, both of Bentonville, Ark., received moderate injuries. Both were taken to northwest Arkansas hospitals.

According to the patrol,the wreck occurred as Taylor made a left turn in front of Childers, striking him on the right, front corner of his vehicle.

Childers and Isaac Taylor were each buckled up, but the patrol did not know if Brittney Taylor was.

Marlet L. Howard, 82, of Goodman, received minor injuries when his ATV crashed at 7 p.m. Sept. 13 on Lark Road, a mile south of the city, according to the patrol.

It was noted that Howard was southbound and driving into a ditch when he struck a fence, causing the ATV to turn over onto him.

He was taken to a Joplin hospital for treatment.
