The text for Bro. Mark Hall’s message was taken from Luke 16:19-31 as he talked about the rich man and Lazarus with his sermon entitled “What’s Going On In Hell?” Both had one thing in common in that they both died. Bro. Mark began by telling us that we sometimes get hung up on this life, which is not our home. “It is not about this life, but about eternal life,” which was the bigdi◊erence between the rich man and Lazarus.

“We know that in hell there is a lake of f ire, torment, darkness, no exit and no second chance. There are four things in hell that we need in our churches today. First, we find tears. We need tears of repentance in our churches. We should be at the altar begging for God’s mercy. Second, we need prayer. We need to pray at the altar. When you pray, you get what God can do. Praying should be something that we do as a way of life not just “in case of emergency.”

Thirdly, Bro. Mark told us that our churches need evangelism. “It is too late to worry about salvation from hell. A Christian’s job is to populate Heaven and depopulate hell. The only generation that can reach this generation for Jesus is our generation.”

And fourth, Bro. Mark told us that we need belief in resurrection power. “The only hope we have for eternal life is our belief in the resurrection that gives us the promise of life after death. Hell doesn’t requirea decision. Going to Heaven requires a decision. Hell is truth seen too late. Man can slip into hell with his hand on the door knob to Heaven.”

In closing, Bro. Mark told us that the rich man lived well and lived a long time ago and that he is still living in hell. “Lazarus didn’t live well, but now lives forever in Heaven. Now who lives well and forever? Eternity never gets old. In hell, they still cry, and they still pray, but it is too late. Life with Christ is an endless hope, but without Him it is a hopeless end.”

Our hymn of invitation was “Lord, I’m Coming Home.” Kyle Jayne dedicated his life to the Lord and Kaitlyn Hubbard was baptized after our morning service. We are so proud of both of you.

After meditation, we then observed the Lord’s Supper taken in a worthy manner and in remembrance of our Father. If you have never repented and changed your life, is God calling you to do so? We invite you to worship with us on Sunday mornings at 11 a.m. at Mill Creek Baptist Church located 3.5 miles east of Noel just off Highway 90 on Upper MillCreek Road. Everyone is always welcome.
