Prayer and praise began in the sanctuary Sunday led by Pastor Rusty and Carla Smith as hearts were prepared to study and worship our living Lord.

Sunday School began at 10 a.m. with classes for all ages including a brand new class - “Sisters in the Spirit” for girls in 6th through 12th grades. Boys of that age meet separately. Pre-school, younger elementary, young adults and adult classes also meet at this time.

At 11 a.m. Stephanie Parker welcomed the congregation and invited them to join in the hymn “Lift High The Cross.”

Birthdays were celebrated by Ken Tomlin and Joye Helm.

Dewey and Melanie Allgood celebrated their anniversary.

Prayers were lifted up,especially for Jessica Pratt for upcoming surgery, and Freida Royer, taken to the hospital after a fall in her home, as well as others in our hearts.

Pastor Rusty’s sermon was “We Are Living Their Legacy” as we celebrated All Saints Sunday. The book of Hebrews tells of a great cloud of witnesses.

Pastor made it personal as he reminded us of the people in our past from this church, our families and others who have helped us to form our faith.

We were challenged to be the legacy for future generations as we witness to our faith.

Upcoming events include new “Mighty Mondays” forkids beginning this week at 3:30 p.m. This will be a time of crafts, music, snacks and a good time for all children. Call the church at 417-223-4723 for more information.

Ruth Circle Women’s ministry will meet at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6, in the fellowship hall.

Women’s Bible study will meet at the parsonage from 8:30 to10 a.m. on Wednesday; Art class at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday; choir rehearsal at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
