Look For Our Float In Jesse James Parade

Pineville Christian Church

— We are beginning a new running program called Prize Runners. We encourage all boys and girls in grades 3 to 6 to join us at 4:30 p.m. each Tuesday after school and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. every Sunday. The program is not only physical, but also spiritual. We will be preparing to run/walk the I Heart Trails at 9 a.m. Oct. 27 in Pineville. Look for our float at the Jesse James Parade for more information.

More activities this week include worship at 6 p.m. Aug. 30 at the Golden LivingCenter.

The emperor moth is known for it’s brilliant colors on it’s wings and it takes hours of struggle to come out of the tiny opening in it’s cocoon. So scientists tried an experiment to make it easier for it to come out and lengthened the opening, but the moth was unable to fly. The hours of struggle have a purpose.

Trials can bring out thebest and beauty of us if we react appropriately. Trials can come from the devil, as explained in I Peter 5, who prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. But we are to resist him and stand firm in the faith. James 1:2-4 reminds us to consider it joy whenever we face trials, because the testing builds perseverance.

Why do trials come? They come to produce faith, to discipline us (Heb. 12:5-6), to develop character, and to help us witness ( Phil 2:15). It’s not a question of whether trials will come, but when trials come, how will we respond?

If you need strength and encouragement, please come and join us for worship this Sunday.
