Vacation Bible School To Be Held July 29 Through Aug. 1

Vacation Bible School will be held July 29 through Aug. 1. This year’s theme is “God’s Big Back Yard” and promises to be entertaining and educational for all children ages 3 years to sixth grade in the community. Kids, come join the fun.

A Fellowship Dinner will be held after the service July 31. Come and enjoy good food and visit with friends while we celebrate the completion of VBS.

Pastor Marilyn O’Brien is graduating from Seminary this week. Congratulations to her for six years of hard work and service to the church. Birthdays were celebrated this week by Shirley Kauffman and Sue Tidwell. They were born on the same day. Chris and Stacy Lilly celebrated their sixth anniversary.

Prayers were requested for all those already on theprayer list and in addition for the Gregory family, Dorothy Houseman, Pat and Roy Cope and Doris Schlessman. Baby Brooklyn Lilly is much better, but will remain in our prayers.

The Children’s time was a discussion of how important we all are to the workings of a church.

The message “It’s All About Church” was delivered by lay speaker Mary Allgood. It was based on Ephesians 2:21-22. She told us about the importance of the church’s support in times of trial and shared information about the reasons that people attend church from the frivolous (meeting singles) to profound (spiritual growth).
