“Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest,” Matt. 11:28. This invitation from Jesus, which was the topic of Sunday’s adult Sunday school lesson, is still extremely appropriate for our time. It’s great to know that Jesus wants us to give our burdens to Him.

Take Five for the children addressed “Temptation.” Even Jesus was tempted by satan and that’s why Christians need to remember we are not alone.

Brother Bob’s message Sunday morning was on “The Royal Law,” James 2:8.When we are born again, we are commissioned by the Lord to fulfill this law. Our mission on earth is to help others get to heaven and enjoy the blessings he gives us along the way. There is more to it than just trying to keep people from going to hell.

At our fellowship soup lunch, there were so many crock pots and various kinds of soup from which to choose that a comment was made, “Muffn tins, instead of soup bowls should have been provided.”

At noon, Feb. 14, the church will be having our Valentine’s Day Dinner. This will take the place of the monthly fellowship breakfast.

Our regular church service times are: Sunday school at 10 a.m., morning preachingservice at 11, Sunday evening special prayer time at 5:30 with preaching service at6 p.m. Wednesday night service is at 7:30. The church is located three miles northwest of Anderson on Highway F, then one-quarter mile north on New Bethel Road.
