Silent Auction To Benefit Historic Powell Bridge

The Powell Historical Preservation Society (PHPS) will host their third annual silent auction from 1 until 3 p.m. Saturday, April 17 at Rocky Comfort School.

The auction will include quite a collection of items and services from the surrounding counties.

A few of the auction items are Mohawk area rugs, electric roaster oven, vacuum cleaner, programmed blender, Albert Brumley music items, ice cream maker, Red Wing boots, puzzles, deluxe crock pot, jewelry, Branson tickets (Jim Staff ord, Doug Gabriel, Grand Country, Duttons, Imax and more), deep fryer and a Daisy Model 25 pump rifle. The auction will also include certificates from beauty shops and restaurants.

David Bunch will oversee the silent auction and serve as auctioneer for a live auction of delicious pies, cakes and other baked goods. The baked goods sale will begin at 2 p.m.

This year’s musical entertainment will be provided by the hand-clapping, toetapping folk group Baled Green & Wired Tight.

The PHPS will raffle off a handmade metal elkwelcome sign from the studio of metal artist Diane Evans, Country Comforts Salon and Day Spa of Wheaton. The raft e kicks off April 17 and will run through the fall.

Come and enjoy a fun two hours while helping raise money to turn the county’s historic iron bridge at Powell into a walking bridge. Register for door prizes. Must be present to win.
